Passengers will get the facility of sleeping pods at Prayagraj Junction of North Central Railway. Prayagraj will be the first railway station in UP, where preparations have been started to provide this facility. After the commencement of this service, passengers will no longer have to wander in search of hotels after getting down at the station. Railways will provide this facility to the passengers for less money than the retiring room.
Passengers traveling from far off places in trains wander around the railway station to take rest. Due to not getting any shelter, they have to take shelter in hotels, lodges, guest houses etc. To get rid of this problem and for the convenience of the passengers, Prayagraj Division of North Central Railway has started an exercise to provide sleeping pod facility at Prayagraj Junction.
The tender process for this will be started soon. The fee for the sleeping pod will be determined after the tender is finalised. It is being told that there will be facility of single to double pods here. Equipped with modern facilities, the sleeping pod will also have facilities for phone charging, locker room, internet, deluxe bathroom etc.

Sleeping pods, as the name suggests, are extremely small rooms for passengers to sleep. Usually its shape is like a capsule. It costs less as compared to the retiring room. Despite this, it has all kinds of facilities. For the first time in the country, the first sleeping pod was opened at Mumbai Central.
